This is a German WW1 M1898/05 (G98/05) Sword or "Butcher" bayonet. It features a 14-3/8-inch blade with the ricasso marked "ALEX COPPEL SOLINGEN" and crown over "W 17" on the spine indicating 1917 manufacture. Overall condition of this bayonet is fair with much of the original bluing remaining on the blade and the original unsharpened edge. The blade does have some dings along the edge between 4 and 6 inches up from the guard, the wood grips have some wear, scuffs and chips. Buy online today!
