US M1873 Socket Bayonet With RIA Pattern 1885 Scabbard Frog - Vintage Bayonet
This is a US Model 1873 (M1873) socket bayonet for the M1873 Trapdoor rifle. It features an 18" unsharpened blade with an overall length of 21" and is marked "US" on the ricasso. Included with the bayonet is a Spanish-American War era Rock Island Arsenal Pattern 1885 scabbard frog marked "RIA" on the brass belt hook and "W.T.G" on the leather attachment piece, the front is marked "US". Overall condition is good with most of the original bluing, there is some patina, pitting and rust on the bayonet, the frog leather and brass is in very nice shape. Buy online today!
